Who should attend

The course has been designed for delegates who require some basic knowledge of Solid State Interlocking, how to reset Solid State Interlocking modules and report basic issues.

Objectives

On successful completion of the course delegates will have an understanding of the following:

  • Principles of Solid State Interlocking
  • Principles of how Solid State Interlocking works
  • The principles of data transmission
  • How Solid State Interlocking modules are addressed
  • How to read TFM data
  • How to review and understand basic Solid State Interlocking location diagrams and schematics
  • How Solid State Interlocking interfaces with external equipment

Learning approach

The course is 50% classroom based and 50% practical sessions with a variety of desktop activities, PowerPoint presentations and hands on equipment practice.

Pre-requisites

Ideally delegates should hold BS1/BS2 or equivalent and have some trackside experience.
