Number of Delegates: 1
Duration: 1 day
Location: Horsley Cross
The recertification has been designed for delegates who hold a certificate in Signal Maintenance Testing which is nearing its expiry date. Delegates are required to have already completed the Network Rail transitional test.
Delgates are required to sit a pre-assessment theory test prior to completing the SMTH practical assessment. The theory test can be completed up to 12 months prior to the attending the practical assessment/recertification (please see SMTH Recertification pre-practical theory test summary).
Delegates are required to recertify their SMTH practically at an approved Network Rail training centre prior to the expiry date on the card.
This will include all the following core skills where they are already held:
Any additional competences relating to SMTH or G110 must be assessed on a separate day.
This is a recertification of a competence and is therefore a full day of both theory and practical assessments (maximum times permitted are 08:45 – 15:30).
By the end of this assessment, delegates will have proved their competence in SMTH. On successful completion of all theory and practical assessments delegates will be issued with an SMTH card which will need to be authorised by their Manager.
Candidates must hold a valid SMTH card. Delegates should bring with them SMTH, SMS and relevant sections of the Rule Book.
Delegates will be required to prove that they have been completing SMTH work within the last two years. This is normally in the form of SMTH logbook slips.
Delegates will complete an SMTH renewal theory assessment. On successful completion of this pre-test they will be permitted to continue with the practical assessments.
